How to Effectively Market Your Green Certified Projects
Date: Friday, January 14
Time: 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: West 311 G-H
You may have built the greenest house on the block ... but who's going to know
about it, and, more importantly, who's going to care unless you market it
effectively to your potential buyers. Because many of the elements that make up
a "green home" can be highly technical, it's tough to decide how much to tell
the buying public without having their eyes glaze over from tech-speak. You
also need to be sure your sales team can adequately and effectively convey the
"so what" benefits of the green elements in your homes.

Challenges and Opportunities of Whole-House Energy Retrofits
Date: Saturday, January 15
Time: 8:00 am - 9:30 am
Location: West 311 C-D
High energy costs, the large existing housing stock and potential remodeling
incentives are leading many homeowners to stay in their homes longer. As a
result, a "gut rehab" of an existing home provides an ideal opportunity to
improve the home's energy efficiency. For this kind of project, it's important
to have a comprehensive plan that goes beyond simply adding insulation, and
instead takes a whole-house system approach. However, there are challenges to
this approach that you should know about as well. Find out how to create an
effective deep-energy retrofit plan to ensure your finished product will be
safe, healthy, durable and energy efficient.
These training modules, offerered on our ToolBase Services site, provide ideas
and resources about energy efficiency in remodeling, helping to increase the
value of your next project.
