Housing Performance Assessment Report: F-4 La Plata Tornado of April 28, 2002

This report evaluates the structural performance of housing within 11 zones identified along the F-4 LaPlata, Md. tornado's path. It is unique, compared to previous tornado damage assessments, in that the study team took steps to remove some of the "human bias" that otherwise exists in anecdotal studies that tend to focus on worst case conditions. Extensive data collection and statistical analysis provide a realistic and scientific perspective that can help guide decisions related to disaster-resistant housing.
